Sunni started our Gin Group and welcomes members of the group to her home several times a year for gin tasting sessions. These are very popular events and places go quickly! To book your place either see Sunni or contact her via email gin@tetbury-wi.org.uk.

Yet another spectacular Gin tasting evening, sampling various gins from around the world, all linked to a grape variety. The group kicked off the evening with a very refreshing Spanish gin-wine aperitif, ideal for the warm summer evenings!
If you would like to recreate this at home, the recipe is:
Nordesiño
- Fill your Copa or oversized wine glass with plenty of ice
- Pour 25ml of Nordés gin into it
- Add 50ml of albariño wine, and stir gently
- Add 100ml of regular tonic water
- Add lemon peel and white grapes
Other gins the group tasted were a German gin using Riesling wine, a Welsh one with Pinot Noir, and what appeared to be the favourite with the Gin Group ladies – a lovely French gin based on Chardonnay.

April saw another one of Sunni’s very popular Gin Group events. The theme was ‘A Journey from Scotland to London, with a few stops….’ A fantastic time was had be all attendees – book soon for the next one!

Special Editions for Special Ladies!
Hendricks, Tanqueray, Cotswold Gin, Bombay Sapphire and Gin Mare featured at the recent Gin Group event, but this time instead of the ‘standard London Dry’ the ladies tried special, limited, anniversary or non-standard editions. Interesting discoveries of the evening – blackberry is a stone fruit, pretty bottles influence purchases and how many units can be consumed at a gin evening and get behind the wheel! We should say all our ladies are very responsible and were either chauffeured or walked. Fantastic evening – great company, great gin and as always great food!

The last gin event of 2023 was all about Gins of Europe, aka The Grand Tour! We visited the Netherlands, Germany, Italy, Spain and France – gin and food wise! Gouda cheese, Arancini, Gougeres and more accompanied all these very tasty gins. One gin stood out above all others though – maybe not a surprise as it was named after 999.9 gold (the purest 24 carat form) and allegedly partly distilled in a gold pot! We ladies just loved its tangerine flavour, and some bottles have already been ordered to be enjoyed over the winter months.

The Gin Group enjoyed another very successful evening tasting various gins! This time it was all about Grapes & Gin, so each gin had some sort of grape connection. This could be a grape base spirit, grape flowers used as a botanical or even wine added during the distillation process. We all enjoyed several G&Ts and some of the ladies present have already invested in a bottle to drink at home!

May 2023 This Gin Group evening was cocktails with a royal theme. The ladies were shaking and stirring some tasty gin-based cocktails including The Camilla ’23, Queen Martini and The Right Royale. As ever, Sunni hosted a fun filled evening with the ladies deciding the best cocktail was The Camilla ’23. Sunni has shared the recipe here for those who want to have a go at home.

March 2023 Another very successful Gin Club evening. ‘Winter to Spring’ – 5 months, 5 gins and 10 very happy ladies!
